By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using any part of Qtype Pro, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Before public launch: replace the bracketed business details above with your real legal or trading details.
1. About the service
Qtype Pro is an online touch-typing platform designed to help users improve typing speed, accuracy, consistency, and confidence through guided lessons, practice tools, games, analytics, and progress tracking.

Some features are free. Other features are available only with an active paid plan.
2. Who may use the service
You may use Qtype Pro only if you are legally able to agree to these Terms.

If you are below the age at which you can legally agree on your own, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree on your behalf.

If you are under 13, you may register only where the service allows it and only with the required parent or guardian approval process. We may limit or delay access until those steps are completed.

You must provide truthful information about your age and registration details.
3. Accounts and account security
To use certain features, you must create an account and keep your details accurate and up to date.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for activity carried out through your account.

Contact us promptly at account@qtype.pro if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

We may suspend, restrict, or close accounts where we reasonably believe there has been misuse, security risk, fraud, unlawful activity, or a material breach of these Terms.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service. In particular, you must not:
  • use the platform for unlawful, harmful, abusive, or fraudulent purposes;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, data, or other users;
  • interfere with the operation, security, or availability of the platform;
  • upload malware, harmful code, or other disruptive material;
  • use automation or scripts to create fake accounts, fake results, or fake activity;
  • scrape, copy, reverse engineer, or exploit the service except where law clearly allows it;
  • submit unlawful, infringing, threatening, hateful, obscene, or defamatory material.
We may investigate suspected misuse and take action including warnings, suspension, or termination.
5. Learning content, scores, leaderboards, and achievements
The platform provides educational and informational features such as lessons, tests, scores, analytics, streaks, leaderboards, achievements, and weak-key analysis.

These features are designed to support learning. They are not regulated educational qualifications, formal certificates, or guarantees of skill level, exam performance, employment outcomes, or productivity gains.
6. Plans, pricing, and checkout information
We may offer a free plan and one or more paid plans. Current features and prices are shown on the website and at checkout.

Before you place an order, we aim to show the key information you need, including the main service features, the price, billing period, renewal basis, and how to cancel.

We may update features, packaging, and prices from time to time. Changes apply going forward and do not remove rights you already have under applicable law.
7. Subscription billing and auto-renewal
If you purchase a paid subscription, you agree to pay the fees shown at checkout.

Unless clearly stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.

By starting a subscription, you authorise the recurring charges that apply to your selected plan.

We may use a third-party payment provider such as Stripe to process payments. We do not store full payment card details on our own servers.

If payment fails, we may retry the charge, suspend paid access, downgrade the account, or cancel the subscription.
8. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel your subscription from the billing area of your account unless a different method is clearly stated at the time of purchase.

If you cancel, your paid access normally continues until the end of the current paid billing period and then does not renew.

Cancelling a subscription does not automatically delete your account.

We do not offer refunds beyond your statutory rights unless we expressly say otherwise. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under consumer law.
9. Trials, promotions, and discounts
We may offer trials, discount codes, promotions, or temporary access to paid features from time to time.

Unless clearly stated otherwise, promotions are temporary, may be withdrawn or changed, may apply only to certain users or time periods, and standard pricing may begin automatically after a promotional period if that was clearly disclosed.
10. Emails and service communications
We may send service emails needed to operate your account and provide the service, such as account verification, password reset, security notices, billing notices, renewal notices, and important product updates.

We may also send marketing emails where permitted by law. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in those emails. You cannot opt out of essential service messages that are necessary to provide or secure your account.
11. User content and custom text
If the service allows you to submit profile content, custom text, or other material, you remain responsible for that content.

You confirm that you have the right to submit it and that it does not break the law or infringe third-party rights.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, display, and use that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and provide the service.
12. Intellectual property
The software, branding, original lesson structure, design, graphics, text, and other original content in Qtype Pro are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service for your own lawful personal or internal use in accordance with these Terms.
13. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available and functioning properly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

We may update, improve, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service for security, legal, operational, or technical reasons.
14. Third-party services
The platform may rely on or link to third-party services such as payment processors, hosting providers, analytics providers, email providers, and support tools.

Those third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for services we do not control.
15. Privacy and data protection
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. If a child account requires parent or guardian approval, we may process the child’s and the parent or guardian’s contact details as needed to manage that process and provide the service.
16. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, perfect accuracy of every score or analytic, compatibility with every device, or any particular learning result.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
17. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, anticipated savings, or data loss arising from factors outside our reasonable control.

If we are liable to you in connection with the service, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to it will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or £100.

If you are a consumer, this section applies only to the extent allowed by law and does not affect any rights that cannot legally be excluded.
18. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access where you materially or repeatedly breach these Terms, payment is not successfully completed, we are required to do so for legal reasons, or your use creates security, fraud, abuse, or operational risk.

On termination, your right to use the service ends immediately. We may retain certain records where needed for legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, or legitimate record-keeping purposes, subject to our Privacy Policy.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we may notify users by email, through the website, through the app, or by updating the date at the top of this page.

The updated Terms take effect from the stated effective date. By continuing to use the service after that date, you agree to the updated Terms.
20. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless mandatory law in your place of residence requires otherwise.

If you are a business user, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, you may also have rights to bring a claim in the part of the United Kingdom where you live.
